Wind Cave National Park

Hello! OK everyone, before I start the blog I have something to say. Where are you guys? Are you not reading the blog??? Come on people, show some spirit! Anyway, we went to Wind Cave National Park today, and it was great. We were in the cave and got to a point that we were 220 feet below the surface of the earth. We'll post pictures if we can. Also we saw praire dog land, where praire dogs were everywhere! They are so cute!!! Now we're in a hotel in Alliance, Nebraska, and we're going to Carhenge tomorrow...
What is Carhenge? You will have to find out tomorrow!

Hi Emily and family! This is your cousin Catherine writing. I learned from Janet that you are keeping this travel blog. It is so cool! I didn't even know this kind of thing existed. Now I'm a member too. It sounds like you are on quite an adventure. We are planning one of our own (although not to such famous places as Mt. Rushmore -- I've never been there...). We're driving from Sacramento to Port Townsend in August, and we want to stop over to see Portland for a day. I've actually never been to Portland, other than the airport. So I wanted to know if we (me, my boyfriend Ed, Nathan and Adam) could stay with you on August 18 and 19. We'd come fairly late on the 18th, and leave in the morning on the 20th. We will have air mattresses and sleeping bags with us, so the floor is all we really need. But will you be back from your big adventure by then? And up for house guests?

You can e-mail me at cdunwoody@cafcp.org or call me at work at (916) 371-2844 or home (916) 452-5359 or cell (916) 870-1428.

Have a wonderful time wherever you are today!

Catherine

It's prairIe.

Is Alliance Nebraska cute too?

We had a spot of rain here yesterday, but the weather is clear and reasonably cool today.

Tuna is in quarantine to see if he will eat any dry food. He is showing more vigor though - he jumped up to the futon sofa in the rec room this morning.
